Woman overcomes fear of dogs to rescue stray lost at Melaka roundabout

PETALING JAYA: Driven by concern over a stray dog repeatedly circling a busy roundabout in Gangsa, Melaka, a woman overcame her fear of dogs to rescue the lost animal before it could be hit by traffic.

The woman, posting under the Threads handle @wander_adibah, shared that she was initially terrified but felt an overwhelming worry for the dog's safety as it continued to run around the roundabout.

“I was scared, but I was even more afraid that the dog would be hit later. I would have regretted not helping, as it had been circling the roundabout many times,” she said in her post.

She managed to coax the anxious animal into her vehicle before taking it to a supermarket in Batu Berendam, where she provided food and water while appealing for assistance online to locate its owner or an animal rescuer.

She subsequently brought the dog to veterinary clinic in Batu Berendam for temporary care while awaiting news regarding its owner.

“Thank you, Dr Aravin and the staff at Maju Animal Clinic Batu Berendam for helping this dog,” she added.

Her viral social media post quickly reached the dog's owner, who had previously reported the animal, named Bruno, missing from Taman Merdeka Jaya since Aug 9.

The rescue story garnered widespread praise online, receiving over 3,200 likes and numerous supportive comments from social media users.
