MDDB to host 'Pawloween' charity market to raise funds for 400 rescued dogs

PETALING JAYA: A local canine rescue organisation will host a Halloween-themed charity market later this month to raise vital funds for hundreds of rescued street dogs under its care.

Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) announced that its "Pawloween Charity Market 2026" will take place on Sunday (Oct 25), from 2.00pm to 6.00pm at MDDB House, located at No. 17, Jalan SS3/46, Petaling Jaya.

Entry to the event is set at RM10 per person, with all proceeds directly supporting the daily care, feeding, and medical needs of the 400 former street dogs currently housed by the shelter.

Event coordinator Brenda Chia said the afternoon will feature interactive activities, including a "haunted paws" photo booth, lucky draws, a spin-and-win game, and a "dress our rescues" showcase where visitors can interact with MDDB dogs dressed in Halloween costumes.

Sponsors and supporters have also contributed gifts, treats, and surprises for attendees throughout the four-hour fundraiser.

Organisers emphasised that public support through attendance, games, and merchandise purchases is critical to sustaining the sanctuary's ongoing animal welfare efforts.
