‘BN will not tolerate any breach of trust in TH’

PUTRAJAYA: Barisan Nasional and Umno will not tolerate any breach of trust or mismanagement involving the board of Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH), said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

He said anyone found involved in wrongdoing or mismanagement within government agencies and statutory bodies must be held accountable.

“They must face the consequences and I do not believe we should compromise when it comes to such wrongdoing,” the Deputy Prime Minister as well as Rural and Regional Development Minister told reporters after his ministry’s monthly assembly here yesterday, Bernama reported.

A special parliamentary session to debate the findings of the Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI) report on TH will be held on Aug 11, while Barisan will hold a briefing on the issue a day earlier.

The RCI report released on July 29 called for a forensic audit of past investment decisions, after finding suspicious transactions and information concealment at TH between 2014 and 2020.
