PUTRAJAYA: Development budget requirements to strengthen the country’s border management and control were the focus of discussions between the Economy Ministry and the Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).
According to the ministry, the matter was discussed during a courtesy call by AKPS director-general Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain on minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir here.
“The discussions focused on efforts to strengthen border management and control through infrastructure upgrades, the adoption of technology, the development of strategic assets and the enhancement of operational capacity.
“The ministry acknowledges that strengthening AKPS’ capabilities through structured development planning will support smoother trade, improve the efficiency of the country’s entry points, enhance border security and contribute to more resilient and sustainable economic growth,” it said in a social media post yesterday, Bernama reported.
