PETALING JAYA: A Negri Sembilan Undang and three other ruling chiefs whose positions are in dispute have told Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) not to interfere in what they described as the constitutional prerogatives of the Undang Yang Empat.
In a joint statement on Friday (Sept 25), the group said the Prime Minister and AGC had no jurisdiction over the prerogatives they claimed were accorded to the Undang Yang Empat under Articles 10 and 11 of the Negri Sembilan Constitution 1959.
"We wish to remind (them) not to interfere in the administration of Negri Sembilan, particularly our prerogatives under Articles 10 and 11 of the Negri Sembilan Constitution 1959, as (they) have no jurisdiction to do so," they said.
The group also accused federal agencies of interfering in Negri Sembilan's state executive administration.
"Do not create chaos in our state through Federal Government agencies, causing the executive administration of the Negri Sembilan government to be paralysed," they said.
They further claimed that continued federal intervention would contravene the Prime Minister's oath under the Sixth Schedule of the Federal Constitution as well as Article 71(1) and (2) and the principle of federalism.
The statement was issued by Undang of Johol Datuk Muhammed Abdullah, alongside Datuk Mubarak Thahak, Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad and Datuk Abdul Rahim Yasin, whose positions as the Undang of Sungei Ujong, Jelebu and Rembau respectively are in dispute.
Tunku Besar Tampin Tunku Syed Razman Syed Idrus Al-Qadri was also a signatory to the statement.
The warning comes amid the continuing dispute over the position of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar and the administration of the state government.
The group maintains that Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir was removed as Yang di-Pertuan Besar on April 19 and that Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja'afar is the legitimate Ruler.
The AGC had previously said the proclamation purporting to remove Tuanku Muhriz was invalid and that the Mentri Besar and state executive council had no constitutional authority to remove the Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
The dispute escalated further after the removal of the state's 10 executive councillors was gazetted on Thursday (Sept 24), with the revocation taking effect on Sept 20.
