IPOH: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) recovered an unidentified male body floating in waters off Tanjung Hantu, Pulau Pangkor, yesterday.
Perak MMEA director Maritime Captain Mohamad Shukri Khotob said the agency received a report at 10.31am and deployed Bot Penggalang 1639 to the location, about 1.3 nautical miles southwest of Tanjung Hantu.
The body, believed to be that of an Indonesian national, was found wearing a black shirt and shorts before being taken to Kampung Acheh Fisheries Jetty and handed over to police for identification, post-mortem examination, and further investigation.
Meanwhile, he urged the maritime community and the public to report any information regarding emergencies, accidents, or suspicious activities at sea by contacting the Perak Maritime Headquarters Operations Centre at 05-683 8737 or the 999 emergency line. - Bernama
