PETALING JAYA: The Election Commission (EC) expects the full results of the Negri Sembilan state election to be announced before midnight on Saturday (Aug 1), with early results expected from about 10pm.
EC chairman Datuk Seri Ramlan Harun said the target was achievable as all voting preparations were now at their best and ballot box checks at every polling centre had been completed, reported Sinar Harian.
He said the EC had inspected the ballot box checks at Dewan Perdana Tampin on Friday (July 31), while also ensuring that all polling centres statewide were ready.
"So far, all polling centres are ready to receive voters tomorrow from 8am. Today, we inspected the ballot box checks and the same process is also being carried out at all polling centres.

"We are trying to release the earliest results at about 10pm and our target is for the full results to be announced before midnight," he told reporters at Dewan Perdana Tampin in Tampin today.
Ramlan said the EC had also not received any official complaints involving alleged inducements or corruption during the campaign period.
He said any information on election corruption offences should be channelled directly to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission or the police as such matters came under the jurisdiction of those agencies.
"The EC only receives complaints relating to the election process and minor election offences, which are acted on from time to time," he said.
