PORT DICKSON: Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) has questioned which manifesto would be implemented if Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional form the next Negri Sembilan government.
Taking a swipe at both coalitions' electoral pact, Muhyiddin asked how two separate manifestos could be reconciled effectively.
"Barisan recently unveiled their manifesto and the next day, Perikatan did the same," Muhyiddin said during a campaign speech in Linggi on Tuesday (July 28).
"Which manifesto will be used when one wants to do one thing while the other wants something else? How can this be credible?" he added.
Despite launching separate manifestos, Perikatan has stated its pledges will complement those announced by Barisan.
Barisan and Perikatan have formed an electoral understanding for the Negri Sembilan polls, contesting 25 and 11 seats respectively.
Bersatu, which left Perikatan, is contesting 24 seats independently at the state election. Pakatan Harapan is contesting all 36 seats.
Muhyiddin said Bersatu possesses the experience and leadership necessary to govern both state and federal levels.
He highlighted that the party's leadership includes former Mentris Besar such as Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu (Perak), Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali (Selangor) and himself (Johor).
"Do not doubt our abilities. We can manage the state well, and all our candidates are capable individuals," he said.
"We also have proven experience in managing the country at the federal level," he added.
The former prime minister also urged voters to exercise their democratic rights on polling day.
"Every vote matters in determining who will represent the rakyat," Muhyiddin said.
Polling for the Negri Sembilan state election will take place on Aug 1.
