ROS going digital will reduce opportunities for graft, says Home Minister

PUTRAJAYA: The Registrar of Societies' (ROS) digitalisation agenda will reduce face-to-face interactions as a way to curb the possibility of corruption, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail says.

"This means that all transactions and service-delivery processes between stakeholders and the ROS will now be carried out digitally," he said after the ministry's monthly assembly here on Monday (July 27).

"In other words, there will be less face-to-face interaction and greater efficiency and speed.

“Also, this system of delivery will address matters of integrity."

He added that there are about 200,000 groups and societies in existence, a huge number for the ROS to handle manually.

Its digitalisation will streamline processing for both sides, he said.

"We are proud at the ministry level for the ROS as we move from the era of manual documentation and processing into a digital one," he added.
