A total of 844 complaints have been resolved in the same timeframe, he added.

"Taking this year;s complaints alone, we have recorded 372 cases. The most were for no additional responses for the individuals' police reports," he said.

He added that the powers of the IPCC were clear and that matters of crime and corruption were always referred to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), respectively.

"A total of 1,635 cases is relatively low, but this shows a growing trust and acceptance from the people on the function and existence of the IPCC," he said.
