Hardware shop destroyed in Seri Kembangan blaze

SERI KEMBANGAN: A hardware shop near the Selangor Wholesale Market here was destroyed in a fire that broke out at about 11pm on Wednesday (July 23).

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director Ashrul Riezal Asbar said firefighters were battling a blaze that had spread to several nearby premises.

"Yes, I can confirm the incident. Additional fire engines are on the way. At the moment, we do not have a full report, and no casualties have been reported," he told Bernama when contacted.

Bernama observed firefighters working to contain the blaze, with at least three fire engines deployed at the scene.

Several individuals believed to be owners and employees of nearby premises were also seen moving their goods as a precaution.

Firefighting efforts were hampered by the presence of several gas cylinders inside the shop, raising fears of an explosion. – Bernama
