IPOH: The song Aku Berjanji, composed and performed by Faizal Tahir, has been selected as the patriotic theme song for the National Month in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2026 celebrations.

The song was performed for the first time before the public at the launch of National Month and the Fly the Jalur Gemilang Campaign 2026 held at the Sultan Azlan Shah Health Ministry Training Institute here yesterday.

According to Faizal, the song carries messages of togetherness, unity and a spirit of love for the country, in an effort to defend the nation’s sovereignty.

“It is an honour for me, after almost 20 years in the industry, to be able to contribute something.

“Hopefully, this song will inspire Malaysians and unite us through music,” he said at the event, Bernama reported.

Faizal previously rose to prominence after emerging as the runner-up in the reality programme One In A Million in 2006 and later won the Anugerah Juara Lagu 2008 with his song titled Sampai Syurga.
