Daycare in Langkawi under investigation for negligence

PETALING JAYA: The police are investigating claims of negligent acts at a day care centre in Langkawi that went viral on social media.

Langkawi OCPD Asst Comm Khairul Azhar Nuruddin said the probe will be done thoroughly into the allegations, reported Sinar Harian.

He said a report was received by a teacher, who was believed to be fired for questioning the way children were being handled in the centre.

“Among the allegations include leaving the children to sleep on the floor without a mattress and locking the children in the toilet.

“So far, no parents have come forward to claim that their children suffered from any injuries,” he said in the report.

He said the police were conducting investigations to verify the report based on CCTV recordings and statements from witnesses.
