Police arrest another suspect in PJ hotel murder case

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested yet another suspect in the murder of a man at a hotel on July 8.

The latest detainee, a man in his 40s, was picked up on Monday (July 13) and remanded until July 16 to facilitate the investigation, said Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat.

Two other men, in their 20s and 30s, remain in custody as well, with their remand orders extended today.

"Case papers will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor this week," Shamsudin said in a statement on July 15.

The victim, in his 30s, was discovered unconscious at the hotel and pronounced dead that night at 11.23 pm.

He bore visible injuries on his body. A post-mortem at University Malaya Medical Centre later confirmed the cause as fatal blunt-force trauma. – Bernama
