Cops hunting for more suspects linked to PJ hotel death


PETALING JAYA: Police are tracking down additional suspects believed to be linked to the death of a local man at a hotel here on July 8.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Shamsudin Mamat said no new arrests had been made so far.

“There have been no new arrests, and police are still tracking down other suspects believed to be involved in the case.

“Investigations are ongoing,” he said briefly on Monday (July 13).

It was previously reported that two men were remanded on Friday (July 10) to assist in investigations into the death of a local man at the hotel.

Asst Comm Shamsudin said police received a report at 11.23pm on July 8 regarding an unconscious man found at the hotel.

The victim, believed to be in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. An initial examination found injuries on his body.

The two suspects have been remanded for seven days until July 16, and the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
