JOHOR BARU: MCA is on track to improve its showing in the Johor state election, with unofficial results indicating the party is leading in eight seats.

The party is set to retain its four incumbent seats of Yong Peng, Paloh, Bekok and Pekan Nanas.

Unofficial results also showed MCA leading against its opponents, including Pakatan Harapan, in Tangkak, Johor Jaya, Layang-Layang and Jementah as vote counting continued on Saturday night (July 11).

If the unofficial results hold, MCA would increase its representation in the Johor legislative assembly from four seats to eight.

Official results from the Election Commission are expected later in the night.
