Thunderstorm warning issued for six states, Labuan until 2pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for six states and the Federal Territory of Labuan until 2pm Friday (July 10).

In a statement Friday, MetMalaysia said thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in Perak, involving Kerian, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak, as well as Selangor, involving Sabak Bernam and Kuala Selangor.

Similar weather is also expected in Negri Sembilan, involving Jempol and Tampin; Melaka, involving Alor Gajah and Jasin; and Johor, involving Kota Tinggi.

In Sabah, the areas forecast to be affected are the Interior (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort); the West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud); and Kudat. - Bernama
