Injured senior citizen rescued from locked Sungai Besi home


KUALA LUMPUR: Firefighters rushed to a home in Sungai Besi on Thursday (July 9) after an elderly woman became trapped inside and sustained injuries.

In a statement, the Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department said they were alerted to the incident at 11.13am and immediately dispatched a rescue team to the scene.

"Upon arrival, the team found that members of the public had already managed to pry open the locked front door.

"An 89-year-old woman was found in the kitchen, having suffered a fractured ankle from a fall. Firefighters administered first aid to her injury before handing her over to a Hospital Kuala Lumpur ambulance crew," the statement read.
