PUTRAJAYA: Applications for the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) have opened for the land transport sector, covering company-owned private vehicles, including jeeps and pick-up trucks.
Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali (pic) said successful applicants would be eligible for the diesel subsidy from July 15, subject to approval and the issuance of a fleet card.
“To qualify, vehicles must be registered as business vehicles under the Company Private Use class/code in the Road Transport Department’s MySikap system.
“The business must also be registered as a sole proprietorship or partnership with the Companies Commission of Malaysia or the relevant local authority in Sabah and Sarawak,” he said in a statement yesterday, Bernama reported.
Armizan said the subsidy is intended to benefit registered micro and small businesses operating as sole proprietorships or partnerships.
Eligible business owners are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible via https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my.
In Sarawak, a total of 37,880 vehicles are eligible for SKDS, but to date only about 26,000 have been registered.
State Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry director Matthew Dominic Barin called on vehicle owners and companies to submit their applications either by visiting KPDN offices or online through the MySubsidi portal.
“I also urge vehicle owners to check their eligibility so that they can benefit from the diesel subsidy provided by the government,” he said during visits to several petrol stations around Kuching yesterday.
