JOHOR BARU: Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) has unveiled its manifesto for the 16th Johor state election, focusing on housing, the environment and job opportunities for youths.
Its sole candidate in the election, Amir Syafiq Ameer Soekre, who is vying for the Skudai seat, said the manifesto was based on the needs of local residents.
"The first item is to provide more affordable houses while also controlling rental costs to ensure that they are in line with people's income.
"We are also bringing the agenda of providing more transit homes for young families," he said, adding that Johor records an estimated 23,000 marriages annually.

Amir Syafeeq said the party also wants to strike a balance between the environment and the people.
"This includes tighter standard operating procedures (SOP) for factories and data centres while keeping rivers clean to avoid floods," he said.
He said the final manifesto point is ensuring there are enough jobs for young people, including the estimated 200,000 youths graduating annually.
