BUDI Diesel subsidy program launches successfully, says Finance Ministry


PETALING JAYA: Finance Ministry reports smooth launch of Budi Diesel subsidy on June 27, 2026, enabling eligible private diesel vehicle owners in Peninsular Malaysia to purchase subsidised diesel.

In a statement on Sunday (June 28), the ministry said that nearly 24,000 transactions were recorded, totalling 1 million litres of diesel worth RM2.1mil at RM2.15 per litre.

By 11am on June 28, the official portal received over 13,000 new applications for an additional 100 litres per month for eligible pickup and jeep owners.

It also said that the government plans ongoing monitoring and adjustments based on public and industry feedback.
