Health Ministry probing cybersecurity incident involving official website

PETALING JAYA: The Health Ministry's (KKM) official portal has been hit by a suspected cybersecurity incident, disrupting public access as authorities race to investigate the breach and restore the system.

In a statement Saturday (June 27), the ministry said preliminary findings indicated the access disruption was believed to have stemmed from a cybersecurity incident.

The ministry said a detailed investigation was underway to determine the cause of the incident, while system recovery efforts were being carried out simultaneously to bring the portal back online as soon as possible.

"The ministry views this incident seriously and is working closely with relevant agencies to strengthen the security of its systems and prevent similar incidents from recurring," it said on Saturday.

The ministry also advised the public to obtain official information through its verified social media accounts and other official communication platforms while the portal remains inaccessible.

It then apologised for the inconvenience caused and expressed appreciation for the public's patience and cooperation as restoration efforts continue.

Further updates on the incident would be provided from time to time, it said.
