PUTRAJAYA: Owners of diesel-powered jeeps and pickup trucks can apply for an additional allocation of 100 litres of diesel, bringing their total entitlement to up to 300 litres per month, says Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali.
The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister clarified that only the base quota is set at 200 litres for the Budi Madani Diesel (Budi Diesel) initiative.

“There have been some saying that the limit under Budi Diesel is only 200 litres, but this is not true.
“That (200 litres) is only the base quota for diesel-powered vehicles registered under individuals. Those with pick-up trucks and jeeps can apply for an additional 100 litres, making their total entitlement 300 litres.
“This is applicable nationwide as well,” he told reporters here on Saturday (June 27).
Treasury secretary-general Tan Sri Johan Mahmood Merican, who was also present, said the public can apply for the additional quota via the budimadani.gov.my website or in person at any Inland Revenue Office (LHDN) branch.

“Our Sabah and Sarawak LHDN offices will also be opened over this weekend to assist,” he said.
Both had earlier observed preparations made by petrol station staff towards the implementation of the Budi Diesel initiative in line with its early-phase rollout in Peninsula Malaysia on Saturday.
Under this phase, subsidised diesel is sold at RM2.15 per litre through MyKad verification at participating petrol stations.
Full implementation will commence nationwide on July 1, with subsidised diesel priced at RM2.10 per litre for eligible Malaysians.
Several Sabah state assemblymen had previously urged for the Budi Diesel initiative to be refined and called on the Federal Government to raise the quota from 200 litres to 300 litres per month to reflect actual usage and travel patterns in the state.
Earlier this week, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan explained that the government would allow eligible diesel users who own qualifying jeeps and pickup trucks to apply for an additional allocation of 100 litres.
The applicant must own a privately registered diesel vehicle in their name and possess a valid driving licence and vehicle licence.
On a related matter, Armizan reminded diesel-powered vehicle owners not to be alarmed if they notice the pricing on the pump meter being higher than the amount they purchased.
“The pump will show prices under the automatic pricing mechanism, but the subsidy will be reflected in the receipt,” he clarified.
