In a post on his official Facebook page, Anwar said the meeting, held in conjunction with the Day of Ashura on Friday (June 26), was also an opportunity to seek special prayers for the prosperity, peace and well-being of all Malaysians.

"Alhamdulillah, I had the opportunity to receive a farewell visit from Gambian scholar Sheikh Muhammad Haydara Al-Jilani, who has been in Malaysia over the past month leading a series of knowledge and dhikr gatherings at several locations.

"In conjunction with the Day of Ashura, which also falls on this blessed Friday, I requested that the Sheikh offer prayers for the well-being of the people, peace for the country, and that Malaysia continues to be blessed with Allah SWT’s mercy, blessings and protection,” he said.
