Motorcyclist killed after falling into drain in Shah Alam


PETALING JAYA: A motorcyclist was killed after reportedly losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a drain along Persiaran Selangor in Seksyen 15, Shah Alam.

OCPD Asst Comm Sarudin Samah said the victim, believed to be in his 40s, was found with his motorcycle at 11.40pm on Tuesday (June 23).

"Initial investigations indicate that the victim was on his way home from work at 5.40am when the accident occurred.

"It is believed that he lost control of the motorcycle before veering to the left side of the road and falling into a drain," he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 24).

ACP Sarudin said the victim suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem conducted at Hospital Shah Alam on Wednesday determined the cause of death as chest injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
