KUALA LUMPUR: An online gambling syndicate and mini casino operating out of a luxury residential unit in Bukit Jalil was busted following a raid under Ops Noda/Dadu on Saturday (June 13), with 15 individuals arrested.

Cheras district deputy police chief Supt Lim Chun How said 15 individuals, including three women aged 21 to 44, were detained in the operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation Division (D7) of the Cheras district police headquarters.

“We arrested 12 local men, two local women and one Vietnamese woman.

“We also seized various items believed to be used in gambling activities, including a casino table, hundreds of gambling chips, playing cards, RM4,904 in cash, a laptop and a karaoke audio system,” he said in a statement on Monday (June 15).

He said the case is being investigated under Section 4(1)(b) of the Entertainment (Federal Territory) Act 1992 and Section 4(1)(c) of the Common Gaming Houses Act 1953.
