Boy dies after being hit by SUV in Rembau


REMBAU: A nine-year-old boy has died after he was hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) on KM1 of Jalan Program Perumahan Rakyat Termiskin (PPRT) Legong Ulu in Kota here.

Acting Rembau police chief Deputy Supt Azmi Ali said that in the incident, which occurred at about 5.30pm on Wednesday (June 10), the victim was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining severe head injuries.

"The body was taken to the Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem examination, while the driver did not sustain any injuries," he said in a statement on Wednesday night.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. – Bernama
