Johor polls: Stable government crucial to ensuring continued development, economic growth, says Aminuddin

BATU PAHAT: Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (pic) urges Johor voters to support Pakatan Harapan in the coming state election, saying a stable government is crucial to ensuring continued development and economic growth.

Drawing parallels with the current political situation in Negri Sembilan, Aminuddin said instability caused by shifting political loyalties could disrupt the administration of a state, despite strong economic performance and increasing state revenue.

“Honesty and sincerity is important in friendship. One moment they give their support, but the next they withdraw their support, and I do not know what I did wrong.

“Their actions are liken to 'drilling holes in a ship that is sailing well', and such behaviour undermined public trust and political stability,” he added.

Aminuddin said this in his speech during the launch of Pakatan’s machinery for the Johor state election held here on Saturday (June 6) night.

He added Pakatan’s election machinery had been preparing for the polls well before the dissolution of the Johor state assembly, adding that party leaders and grassroots members had demonstrated strong commitment to securing victory in the state.

He said the enthusiasm shown by party supporters reflected their readiness for the election, which is expected to be called soon by the Election Commission following the dissolution of the state assembly.

Aminuddin credited many of the country’s economic and development achievements to the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, whom he described as working tirelessly to improve the nation’s fortunes.

He said Johor should continue to maintain close cooperation with the Federal Government to ensure development initiatives could be implemented effectively.
