PORT DICKSON: The authorities must take immediate action against those who infringe on race, religion and royalty (3R) sensitivities while campaigning for the Negri Sembilan state election, says caretaker Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
His remarks came after a clip that went viral on social media showed an individual claiming that the Negri Sembilan palace, Mentri Besar and state government were being controlled by a political party.
"This is extremely upsetting.
"We know that the royal institution is safeguarded, not only by the Malays but all Malaysians regardless of background.
"Immediate action must be taken. We do not want action to be taken only after the polls as this episode tarnishes the integrity and honour of the royal institution," he told reporters after attending an event with state village development and security committee (JPKK) leaders here on Monday (July 27).

Aminuddin, who is also the state Pakatan Harapan chairman and candidate for Linggi, said racial issues were played up by certain quarters even during the early stages of the campaign.
"The rakyat here are mature and want to know what can be offered instead of racial narratives.
"Malaysia is stable and prosperous. These sentiments have no place in our society except for those who believe this can increase support for their party," he said.
He added that while some of these parties leverage such matters, it is only for their personal interests.
Earlier on Monday, the Negri Sembilan palace denied any involvement with political parties contesting the Aug 1 state polls.
In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Azizi Mohamad Ali advised candidates to refrain from dragging the monarchy into their election campaigns and speeches.
Azizi said any claims, statements, photos, videos, or materials linking the palace, Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir or any member of the royal family with any political party were untrue.
The palace, he said, would like to advise all political party candidates contesting in the state polls to avoid playing up issues related to the 3Rs.
