Journalists praised for key contributions to nation building

PUTRAJAYA: The role of journalists has become increasingly important in today’s fast-paced digital world as a reliable source of authentic information and in helping the public better understand current issues, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

“Behind every piece of news that reaches the people are journalists who work around the clock to ensure information is delivered accurately, swiftly and responsibly,” he said.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said he greatly valued the good ties forged with media partners over the years and acknowledged the many sacrifices made behind the scenes to ensure the public continued to receive accurate and reliable information.

“Continue to report the news with integrity and a strong sense of responsibility to the nation,” he said, in commemorating National Journalists’ Day (Hawana 2026) yesterday, Bernama reported.

Ahmad Zahid also expressed his gratitude to all media practitioners in the country for their commitment and dedication to journalism.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also conveyed his appreciation to journalists, media practitioners and broadcasting personnel for their unwavering dedication in delivering accurate, authentic and integrity-driven information to the public.
