Warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain in seven states until 7pm tonight


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in seven states until 7pm on Friday (May 29).

MetMalaysia in a statement announced that the states involved are Kedah (Sik and Baling), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang and Pasir Puteh) and Terengganu (Besut and Setiu).

Similar conditions are also expected to hit Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Kuala Pilah, Jempol and Tampin) and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).

In Sarawak, the bad weather affects areas in Sibu, Mukah (Matu, Dalat and Mukah), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau) and Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi).

Meanwhile, in Sabah, the areas involved are the interior (Tambunan), West Coast, Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu). - Bernama
