A FOREIGN visitor threw a temper tantrum in Johor and even shoved a bystander after being told to stop smoking, China Press reported.
Video footage of the incident, believed to have been taken at Forest City, Johor Baru, shows a woman approaching a man and telling him that it was a no-smoking zone.
The smoker, enraged, yelled at her and demanded to know why he couldn’t smoke.
The woman, in her response, said: “Why are you scolding me? I am speaking to you nicely. You are not allowed to smoke here.”
At this point, the man recording the video stepped in to calm the situation.
However, the smoker, believed to be a Chinese national, began shoving him. This led to the video being cut off abruptly.
Internet users praised the woman for her professionalism in handling the matter as well as a security guard who intervened.
> The family of a deceased 24-year-old university student in Taipei returned to the scene of his death on May 20 to perform a traditional “soul calling” ritual, Sin Chew Daily reported.
His father said his son, identified only as Wu, had been a cheerful person who enjoyed fishing and playing baseball.
However, he said his son’s emotional state changed earlier this year.
“He kept talking about how the thesis [for his master’s degree] was repeatedly revised [by the supervising professor] and the heavy pressure he felt,” the father recounted.
Wu was subsequently found lifeless outside a building on campus.
The university has since issued a statement, saying that the professor has been suspended while an investigation is carried out.
