A DOG in China alerted family members just before a magnitude 5.2 earthquake hit the Liunan district in Guangxi, allowing everyone to escape their home safely, reported China Press.

According to one of the victims, the family’s Shiba Inu started barking wildly for about a minute before they felt the tremors.

They managed to evacuate in under half a minute, thus avoiding danger from collapsing buildings.

Internet users praised the Shiba Inu, calling it “amazing”.

Many speculate that dogs can predict earthquakes because of their highly sensitive hearing.

It was reported that a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Liuzhou city in the Guangxi region at 12.21am on Monday, killing a 63-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman.
