ASP's fatal fall was an accident, says S'gor police chief


SHAH ALAM: The fall that led to the death of a senior police officer here has been deemed to be accidental in nature, says the state’s top cop.

Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Shazeli Kahar, at a press conference Thursday (May 21), said that there were no criminal elements that were linked to the death.

“There are no criminal elements. As of now, we believe the death was accidental.

“The post mortem have been completed and the body has been safely buried at the victim’s hometown in Kuantan, Pahang.

“This is all I would say on this incident,” he said.

He also said untrue speculation and those that were defamatory in nature could lead to it being investigated.

On Wednersday (May 20) morning, a Selangor Criminal Investigation Department (CID) senior officer died after he is believed to have fallen from a condominium in Seksyen 14 here.

The deceased has been identified as Asst Supt Mohd Firdaus Safuan Abdul Rasib.
