Kelana Jaya LRT line hit by service disruption

KUALA LUMPUR: Train services on the Kelana Jaya Line are experiencing delays following a component failure involving a train at the Kelana Jaya Station, according to a statement on MyRapid’s Facebook page.

The operator said on Monday (May 18) alternative train services had been activated, with trains from Gombak Station turning back at Taman Jaya Station every six minutes, while trains from Putra Heights Station would turn back at Ara Damansara Station at six-minute intervals.

Shuttle train services have also been introduced between the Ara Damansara and Kelana Jaya stations every eight minutes, as well as between the Kelana Jaya and Taman Jaya stations every 12 minutes.

Shuttle bus services are being provided between Ara Damansara and Taman Jaya.

MyRapid said trains would operate at reduced speed and may experience longer stops at platforms, advising passengers to consider alternative routes including the Kajang Line, Sri Petaling/Ampang Line and Putrajaya Line.

The latest disruption follows previous incidents on the line, including a signalling issue between Gombak and KLCC on Feb 19 and a track switch problem near Universiti Station on April 13.

Both incidents caused service delays before operations resumed.
