Thunderstorms to hit all northern states till noon, says MetMalaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected to affect all northern states in Peninsular Malaysia as well as several areas in Pahang, Johor, Sabah and Labuan until noon Saturday (May 16).

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a warning issued at 9am Saturday, said the weather conditions are expected to occur across Perlis, Kedah and Penang, as well as Labuan.

In Perak, the affected areas are forecast to include Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, and Kuala Kangsar.

For Pahang, the warning covers Rompin, while in Johor it involves Mersing, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru.

Meanwhile, in Sabah, similar conditions are expected in the Interior (Kuala Penyu) and Tawau (Tawau). - Bernama
