Sharply-dressed teen cooks up big money at ‘wok’

A TEENAGER in Shandong, China, earns 50,000 yuan (RM28,950) a month just from selling fried rice, Sin Chew Daily reported.

Every evening around 5pm, Xiao Lu, 19, would set up his fried rice stall at a night market in Yantai city.

Wearing a tailored two-piece suit complete with a tie and, not to mention his good looks, he drew the attention of customers, earning him the nick- name “Western Suit Fried Rice Brother”.

“I wanted to look a bit more refined and add a touch of romance to everyday street life,” he said, adding that he could cook a plate of fried rice in under three minutes.

The stall is part of Xiao Lu’s family business.

His father would prepare the ingredients while Xiao Lu handles the cooking.

It was estimated that he would have to sell more than 200 plates of fried rice every day to earn that sum of money.

“Initially, the customers may come out of curiosity, but I hope they stay because of the taste,” he said.

The woman, who goes by the handle Hardworking Bean, shared on social media that she had sought treatment back in 2022 when she experienced dizziness during her classes, which may have stemmed from sensory processing.

After doctors ruled out physical ailments, they gave her neuropsychological assessments, including an IQ test.

Her scores showed that her intellectual function ranged from below average to average.

Further tests helped doctors to diagnose her with ADHD and ASD.

Despite the results, the woman said that she had never faced major difficulties in study- ing, working or starting a business.

“I think my experience may offer many people a new perspective (on living with ADHD and ASD),” she said.
