Motorcyclist killed after crashing into fallen tree on Pasir Gudang Highway


PASIR GUDANG: A motorcyclist died on the spot after crashing into a fallen tree near Taman Megah Ria on the Pasir Gudang Highway early Thursday (May 14) morning.

Pasir Gudang fire station chief Firdaus Ahmad said Brad Fischhetii Anak Kijam, 26, was travelling towards Johor Baru when the incident happened.

"We received an emergency call at 4.06am and immediately deployed a team to the scene," he said in a statement.

Firdaus said the team, led by operations commander Nazarudin Yusof, arrived at the scene about 6km away at 4.13am.

He said a dead tree had fallen on the highway and the victim's motorcycle crashed into it.

The victim was pronounced dead by a paramedic team from the Health Ministry.

"The body has been handed over to police for further action," Firdaus added.

He said the fallen tree was cut up and moved to clear the highway, and the operation ended at 4.34am.
