Victim dies after being thrown into drain following crash in Klang


KLANG: A man died after he was believed to have fallen into a drain following a vehicle collision on Jalan Kapar Batu 5 here early Wednesday morning (May 13).

Assistant Director of the Operations Division, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said his department received an emergency call regarding the incident at 3.23am, according to Sinar Harian.

According to him, seven members and officers from the North Klang Fire and Rescue Station rushed to the location, about five kilometres away.

"Upon arriving at the location five minutes later, the fire brigade found the victim, aged in his 30s, in a two-metre-deep drain," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

The victim was believed to have been thrown into the drain after being hit by a vehicle.

He said firefighters then lifted the victim onto a stretcher before Health Ministry officials confirmed that the man died at the scene.
