New MACC chief clocks in for duty at Putrajaya HQ


PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Abd Halim Aman has officially reported for duty as Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner.

He was appointed to replace Tan Sri Azam Baki through an appointment letter issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar on April 25.

The appointment received the consent of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, in accordance with Section 5(1) of the MACC Act 2009.

Abd Halim has been appointed on a two-year contract effective from May 13, 2026 until May 12, 2028.

"All members of the MACC extend their congratulations and best wishes to him in leading efforts to strengthen integrity, governance, and the national anti-corruption agenda," the MACC said in a statement on Wednesday (May 13).
