SEREMBAN: The four vacant Negri Sembilan executive committee positions will not be filled for now, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, adding that the administration continue with six members for now.
"The six will be allocated duties of the four excos who resigned… I don't see any problem with that," he said after chairing the state exco meeting at Wisma Negri on Wednesday (May 6).
He said local government, housing and transportation exco J. Arul Kumar for example, was assigned to attend a digital conference in Penang soon.
On April 27, 14 Umno assemblymen withdrew support for Aminuddin's government and four exco members – Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias, Datuk Ismail Lasim, Datuk Mustapha Nagoor and Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli – resigned from their positions.
However, on Tuesday (May 5), both the Umno and Pakatan Harapan leadership unanimously agreed to maintain the unity government framework in Negri Sembilan.
Aminuddin also said had not spoken with the any of the 14 Umno assemblymen since they withdrew support for him.
"The Umno-Pakatan leadership consultative council affirmed that the 14 would continue to be with the state unity government. So, there are no problems," he said.
On the possibility that the four Umno exco members who resigned would be offered to resume their exco posts, Aminuddin said this was up to party leaders.
Aminuddin also said the next state assembly meeting would likely be at the end of the year.
"There are some Bills we are preparing so it will take time. It will most likely be when we table the budget later this year," he said.
The three-day state assembly meeting was scheduled to begin on April 27 was abruptly postponed.
Asked about the originating summons filed by Datuk Seri Mubarak Dohak, three other Undang and two others at the High Court here on Tuesday against the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU), Aminuddin said the DKU would respond to this.
The summons was to compel the DKU to provide a copy of the minutes of a special session that advised on Mubarak's removal as the Sungei Ujong Undang.
The six claimed that as members of the DKU, they had the right to be furnished with the minutes of a special session held at Istana Besar Seri Menanti on April 17.
