Cops seek help identifying man found dead in Pulau Gaya waters


KOTA KINABALU: The body of an unidentified man has been found floating off Pulau Gaya here.

Kota Kinabalu OCPD Asst Comm Kasim Muda said villagers who were going about their daily routine on Tuesday (May 5) spotted the body and immediately called the police.

"The body was retrieved and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a post-mortem," he said in a statement.

"Anyone with information or who has a missing family member is urged to come forward."

ACP Kasim advised the public against spreading unverified information or speculating about the case so as to not disrupt investigations.

Those with information are urged to contact investigating officer Asst Supt La Paula Abdul Muis at 011-64115848 or give a statement at the nearest police station.
