Anwar conveys condolences on Jalil Hamid's passing


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed his condolences on the passing of veteran actor and singer Jalil Hamid on Monday (May 4).

The Prime Minister described Jalil as a figure who made significant contributions to the local arts scene, adding that his passing is a great loss to the nation's creative industry.

"His services and legacy will always be remembered. My condolences to the entire family of the late Jalil.

"May they be granted strength and fortitude in facing this difficult time," he said in a Facebook post.

Jalil, 69, passed away at 12.30pm at his residence in Shah Alam.

He was laid to rest at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery at about 5.50pm. - Bernama
