JOHOR BARU: The Johor Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry has crippled an illegal diesel trading operation following a raid under Ops Tiris 4.0 in Ulu Tiram.
The ministry’s state director, Lilis Saslinda Pornomo, said the operation was carried out by the ministry’s enforcement division after intelligence gathering on Thursday (April 30).
She said enforcement officers raided industrial premises believed to be involved in the business and wholesale of diesel.
“Further inspection found that the premises did not possess any valid licence to carry out diesel trading and wholesale activities,” she said here on Saturday (May 2).
Lilis Saslinda added that the syndicate was believed to be using a legitimate business front as a diesel wholesaler, obtaining supplies from licensed companies before selling them to transportation firms without proper authorisation.
She said that during the raid, authorities seized about 10,300 litres of diesel, a skid tank, a complete fuel pump set, including a nozzle and hose, as well as several transaction-related documents.
“The total value of the seizure is estimated at RM85,736,” she said, adding that a local man in his 60s was also detained to assist in investigations.
Lilis Saslinda also said the case is being investigated under the Supply Control Act 1961, and the ministry remains committed to strengthening enforcement efforts to curb the misuse of controlled goods.
She added that members of the public with information or complaints on fuel misappropriation are urged to channel them through the ministry’s official platforms, including its WhatsApp line, e-complaint portal, call centre, or the Ez ADU KPDN mobile application.
