Mas Ermieyati chides Melaka assemblyman over use of cartoon dog sticker

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin is questioning why Bersatu's Dr Mohd Aleef Yusof covered the face of a Melaka state assemblyman with a cartoon dog sticker in a photo uploaded on social media.

She said the Sungai Udang assemblyman's post on Facebook was unbecoming of a Muslim and elected representative.

"Out of so many stickers, why did you choose that?

"This does not reflect our manners as Muslims and Malays, more so from you as an elected representative," she said in a Facebook post on Thursday (April 30).

The photo Dr Mohd Aleef uploaded is believed to be of Telok Mas assemblyman and Melaka tourism, heritage, arts and culture committee chairman Datuk Abdul Razak Abdul Rahman, with his face obscured by the photo.

This came after a heated exchange between the two at the state assembly on Wednesday.

Dr Mohd Aleef claimed Abdul Razak had failed to answer his additional question about the status of a floating market project, which had been closed for a year.

He said the photo was tit-for-tat as Abdul Razak made a TikTok video about him after the state assembly sitting.

Earlier in 2026, Mas Ermieyati resigned as the Masjid Tanah Bersatu division chief.
