Madani30 rail ticket discount extended until May 14

PETALING JAYA: The Madani30 initiative, which offers a 30% discount on Electric Train Service (ETS) and Ekspres Rakyat Timuran (ERT) tickets, will be extended to May 14, says the Transport Ministry.

It said the extension followed an astounding response from the rakyat, with more than 21,000 tickets sold as of Monday (April 27).

“This reflects the rakyat’s readiness to transition towards rail transportation systems when given more affordable and convenient access,” it said in a statement on Thursday (April 30).

The ministry added that as many as 1.2 million seats will be available under the Madani30 initiative for travel between May and October this year.

“This allows the public to plan their trips in advance while also having access to more affordable fares.

“Grab this opportunity and use rail services to travel to your destinations.

“It is not only safer and more convenient, but also contributes towards environmental sustainability and reduces traffic congestion,” it said.

Tickets can be purchased through the Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) mobile applications, KITS Style, the official KTMB website, or ticket kiosks at selected stations.

The Madani30 initiative, it said, is also available for rides on all ETS sectors, including the ERT JB Sentral-Tumpat-JB Sentral route, with the travel period lasting until Oct 14.

“The offer is valid for travel between Monday and Thursday, excluding school holidays and travel periods,” it said.

More information is available on Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s official website.
