Cops nab three key suspects in fatal Tangkak slashing case

TANGKAK: Police have arrested three suspects, who had been on the run for more than a month, to assist in investigations into the fatal parang attack on a man at a restaurant in Bukit Kangkar on March 13.

Tangkak police chief Supt Roslan Mohd Talib said the suspects, aged between 24 and 32, were arrested at three different locations last night around Jasin, Melaka, following intelligence gathering and tip-offs.

He added that the arrests of the main suspects could help them resolve the murder case.

Police previously detained 10 individuals to assist in investigations related to the incident.

However, all of them were released on police bail after their statements were recorded.

In the incident, the victim, 38-year-old Tong Wei Sheng, died shortly after arriving at the hospital with severe injuries to his arms, legs and back after being slashed by three masked men wielding machetes. – Bernama
