Thunderstorms, heavy rain forecast in KL, seven states until 9pm


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting seven states and the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur until 9pm on Monday (April 27).

In a statement, MetMalaysia said the affected states are Perlis, as well as Kedah namely Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Yan, Pendang and Kuala Muda, while the areas affected in Perak are Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak and Muallim.

The weather conditions are also expected in Pahang (Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong and Temerloh), Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling and Kuala Langat), as well as in Kuala Lumpur.

A similar warning was also issued for Sarawak, involving Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau) and Limbang.

In Sabah, the affected areas are the interior (Sipitang and Nabawan) and Tawau. - Bernama
