Police urged to act on offensive image linked to Selangor Sultan

PETALING JAYA: The police are urged to act immediately against the culprit behind editing an offensive image linking to royalty.

Selangor investment, trade and mobility committee chairman, Ng Sze Han, strongly condemned a social media post of an edited, offensive image, linking it to His Royal Highness the Sultan of Selangor.

Ng called the editing uncivilised, adding that not only did it go against the norms and etiquette of Malaysian citizens, but it was also an attempt to cause disorder in a multiracial country.

“I urge the Royal Malaysia Police to take immediate action so that the offender can be punished with severe penalties under the laws of our country.

“I also call upon the public to refrain from making statements or depictions that insult and demean any party, which in turn could undermine unity and harmony among Malaysians,” he said in a statement on Sunday (April 26).
