MUAR MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has dismissed claims that he would ask his future wife, Bella Astillah, to give up her career in the entertainment industry after marriage, Kosmo! reported.
Syed Saddiq said it would be unfair to expect his partner to sacrifice her ambitions for the sake of marriage.
“Some have said that after this, Bella won’t be able to act, sing or appear in public except for official events.
“I don’t agree; it’s not fair for dreams to be set aside,” he said during a podcast appearance.
Syed Saddiq, 33, said he fully supports Bella’s aspirations and encouraged her to continue pursuing her goals.
However, he admitted that he was concerned his outspoken stance on current issues could inadvertently affect her career.
Syed Saddiq firmly denied the claims speculation that he intends to bring Bella into politics.
“I don’t want that, and I hope she never has to go down such a path,” he said, noting that he had instead introduced her to sports.
> The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry in Kelantan has launched an investigation into a viral case involving a RM30 charge to repair a calculator damaged from water exposure, Harian Metro reported.
Kelantan ministry deputy director Aswadi Jaafar said the department will issue a notice to the trader involved, requiring the submission of detailed information on the charges imposed.
“Whether the RM30 charge for repairing the calculator is justified or not, the shop owner must submit all relevant information regarding the fees imposed.”
The issue sparked public debate after a post alleged that a student was charged RM30 by a shop in the city to repair the water-damaged calculator.
Many online users questioned the amount of the charge, with some describing it as excessive for a minor repair.
